chicken coop with fire

By the time firefighters arrived, the small structure was fully engulfed in flame and its four guinea fowl inhabitants had died. Nadeau attributes the fire to an interior heat lamp.

Property owner Janelle Dawson was the one who alerted crews to the fire.”When I let my dogs outside this morning I smelt something really strong. I then looked out my back window and realized the chicken coop was on fire.”

She continues: “I ran to the chicken coop to try and save the birds but by the time I got there they had already died of smoke inhalation.”

“My first batch of birds flew away and now my second batch got roasted so I’m going to have think about it before I proceed with anything else. Birds are not my thing, I guess.”

Nadeau says his team was easily able to put out the fire, but the building was a total lost. The $1,500 coop was uninsured.
