Will Coronavirus Affect Your Pet’s Travel Plans?

Everyone want to know the Coronavirus will affect your pet’s travel?

If you’re planning to travel with your pet soon, your plans may need to be altered or put on hold while many countries take steps to control the spread of the virus. Here are the countries restricting pet travel at this time. (Please note, we will be updating this information as we learn more)

ASIA

China: While the government offices that issue pet travel documents are open and operating, pet-safe airlines are only offering limited flights for pets at this time.

The United Arab Emirates: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has announced the embargo on the import of all pets from the following countries.

  • China
  • Hong Kong
  • Iran
  • South Korea
  • Italy

India: Beginning March 22, India has suspended all travel into India. This ban is in place until April 15, but could be extended. All existing visas except diplomatic, official UN/international organization, employment and project visas suspended until April 15, 2020.

Sri Lanka: The Department of Animal Production and Health in Sri Lanka has placed a temporary ban on the importation of Dogs & Cats.

EUROPE

As of March 11, there is a 30 day travel ban into the US from all European countries, this now includes the United Kingdom & Ireland.

Italy: According to our trusted Italian vendors, the entire country of Italy is under quarantine until April 3rd, 2020. No pets will be allowed to enter or leave the country until further notice.
